A website isn't a brochure you print once and put in a drawer. It's a living piece of software that needs to be updated, monitored, and maintained. Platforms update. Plugins break. Security vulnerabilities appear. And when any of these things happen on an unmanaged site, the consequences range from slow load times to a complete outage — or worse, a hacked site serving malware to your visitors.
The problem is that most of this happens silently. You don't know your site is running slowly until a client mentions it. You don't know it's been compromised until Google flags it. By then, the damage is already done.
Running a service business is demanding enough without adding "keep the website working" to your list.
